ABOUT

“When the meaning of an object changes, I have a change in perspective and I begin to heal.”

Born and raised in several cities and towns across all of Mexico before moving to California as a teenager, Flor Quinto is very familiar with the process of starting over, as seen in her large scale multimedia artworks.

From collecting things from places and times she wanted to remember, Flor became fascinated with the way objects tell stories, even painful ones, and how her collection of objects from the past play a part in who she is today.

To honor these objects that helped give her a sense of permanence, Flor creates with them – paying a devoted tribute to each object before immortalizing in resin or wax —a ritual of burial and rebirth at once.
