Biography

Growing up moving frequently from city to city, first within her native México and ultimately to California, Flor Quinto developed a deep interest in the history of everyday objects, which became a recurring theme throughout her various bodies of work.

Flor attended California State University San Bernardino, where she graduated in 2006 with degrees in French Language and Cultural Anthropology and participated in the Art Department's Independent Study Program during her final year.

After moving to Los Angeles, she immersed herself in the underground scene, curating massive shows in alternative spaces, such as empty warehouses. The diverse array of artists she met in the late 2000s inspired her to explore new mediums and techniques, leading to a transformation in her practice from representational painting to abstract mixed media.

In 2022, Flor set up her current art studio at the Brewery Arts Complex, where she had her first solo show the following year, and in 2025 she became a resident artist at The Hive Gallery and Studios, where a collection of her works is on view.
